Villa Kayu Lama

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a villa in Bali, and I can't say enough positive things about it. The facilities were simply outstanding, providing all the comforts and luxuries one could ask for. From the spacious rooms to the beautiful outdoor spaces, every detail was thoughtfully designed to create a truly unforgettable experience.

While our stay at the villa in Bali was largely enjoyable, there were a couple of aspects that gave us pause for thought. Firstly, we noticed that the tea and coffee supplies were not replenished daily, which was a small inconvenience. However, what was more concerning was the pricing disparity. Upon researching the rates during our stay, we discovered that the same villa was available for booking at a significantly lower price—almost 50 percent less than what we had paid. This unexpected difference left us feeling a bit unsettled, as we had not anticipated such a discrepancy. Despite these discrepancies, our overall experience at the villa was positive. Nevertheless, I believe it's important for the management to address these pricing inconsistencies to ensure transparency and fairness for all guests

We were very satisfied with the service and the villa was really very nice.The breakfast was very good and the prices of your own restaurant was appropriate.You had your privacy.There was a free shuttle service to Ubud three times a day.An unlimited supply of drinking water was available around the clock over a water dispenser (if the 20l bottle was empty, you could simply order a new one at the reception).Comparatively large of your own pool!

The workforce (apart from the reception) speaks almost no English - communication was therefore sometimes difficult.Comparatively much construction noise.The cushions of the sun loungers in particular could have been cleaner.Also, the water was not always warm for showering.

Secluded, quiet property with lovely staff. Included a nice breakfast and had spa services.

The property was slightly far out of Ubud and although only 30 mins in a taxi, still sometimes the traffic was really bad and you felt like you were spending most of your time sat in taxis. Bedding was also not the cleanest with a lot of yellow stains on. Be warned if you hate wildlife in the room you may get freaked out, there were small ghekos all over and quite a few mosquitoes. Although nature is out of control on property owners, there were things which could have helped the situation like the door being more secure and having less gaps around to let things in.

The villa is absolutely gorgeous, the swimming pool as well. The swimming pool has a step where you can sit to have floating breakfast. The common area was simple but it felt very modern and fresh. Staff was super friendly and attentive.

Some details need to be checked: -toilet seat had stains -wood floor in the pool deck is not in good conditions -the phone in the room was super old, I could barely hear the other person -you cant really see the rice fields bc the wall is covered by plants and the part that is not covered is super dirty. There were some dropping curtains there that looked very ruined.

Great private villa. I mentioned to the staff that it was our honeymoon and they decorated the room and bath. Thank you so much!! You can have a floating breakfast at no extra charge (which is quite rare in Bali). And breakfast was amazing! Comfortable bed, nice outdoor bathroom. Definitely will be staying there once again!

Please bear in mind that the sun is there only in the mornings, so the swimming pool was cool. Not a very bad thing, as when it is that hot you need to refresh. Like many places in Bali, the descent into the pool is too sharp, I would recommend building a few more steps.

We went to Bali to celebrate our honeymoon and relax, Villa Kayu Lama was really the best choice! We booked one bedroom villa with honeymoon package. Everything was perfect and the honeymoon package was so worth the price! We were really surprised for all the services included in the package! They really made us enjoy our stay in the villa. The staff were so nice and made everything possible for us! Special mention to our driver Wayan, such a beautiful person ?

The location isn’t great at all. Despite offering a daily shuttle it’s a 30+ min drive into the centre because of the ubud traffic. The location itself is peaceful but I would say too far from the centre The amount of bugs isn’t ideal. I appreciate its attached to a rice field but on returning home one night the entire villa was infested. Staff did help straight away but wasn’t a nice experience

The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable Service very prompt, Quick to attend to for any issue Well built Villa They did not disappoint!

Things to improve on would be the following: - Room doesn’t get cold enough, something to do with air conditioning and size of room - little things like AC remote should be checked if battery has charge - Consider maybe having Smart TV or making the TV smart to access Netflix, YouTube ETC

The staff is incredibly nice and very accommodating.The food and the "restaurant" was one of the best.The community pool also invites you to relax.Is a bit "outside" of Ubud, but still very close and you could relax very well.We liked that you are not directly in Ubud.

You can see that in some places there are "problems".With us in the bathroom of the plaster some of the ceiling came through the moisture.That didn't bother us now.

The staff were very nice and very caring, the room was clean and tidy, the swimming pool was very good, frankly everything was perfect.We took the honeymoon package, the advantages were incredible (romantic dinner, floral bath, decoration on the bed on arrival…).You can also rent a scooter on site for very little, it is about 20/30 minutes from the center of Ubud.

This place was truly amazing, the staff were very friendly, food was great and very clean. When asked for anything, we received it quickly and with a smile. Room was decorated for our honeymoon at no extra charge. Daily shuttle to Ubud centre at no extra cost, and pick up at certain times as well.

There's nothing I could say about this place that was not to like

We will definitely be back to this property. Was in such a tranquil location with wonderful facilities I would like to see some paint work done in the villas and the light and fountain was not working in our room but we still loved our stay immensely. We loved the shuttle bus option into Ubud.

Maybe a few more food options on the menu.

We liked the honeymoon villa which is spacious and clean.Every day, we were entitled to flower decorations on the bed, and bathroom, food was delicious, top staff always very caring and available

There were small cats on the roof of our villa who kept mewting meadow at night, which was disturbing.

Location as it is a little out of the way, but only because I don't like driving the scooters. If you have a scooter it's perfect as it's in a nice quiet tranquil area

The room is very nice, everything is very clean and the facilities are well maintained, the staff is super friendly and delicious food

They say that it gives with a view to the rice fields and it is rather an ugly vacant lot, I always closed my doors to the views

Very clean, great pool, great breakfast and nice food at property restaurant. Staff is very helpful, always greet with a smile and very responsive.

Bit further out from main city centre about 30 min drive. Easy to get taxi.

It was a bit out of Ubud so it was very calm and peaceful. The restaurant had a big menu and everything was great! They offered a cooking class there which was so fun! Massage services also offered. Very friendly staff!

Amazing service, staff are friendly and prompt, location is great- quiet and peaceful. Stunning view of the rice paddies. Will definitely come again. Breakfast was lovely as well. No complaints
