Liked the room and the reception staff were very helpful with the car parking spaces available and ordering a taxi. Breakfast - not the best I've ever had. Lack of cups for coffee, lukewarm sausages, bacon, overcooked tomato but this was due to the self service style buffet
The bar area and bar staff. Whilst I appreciate that everyone has to learn how to work behind the bar there was a female and male person who were obviously new starters. The female tried to give me a 125 mil glass of Prosecco and insisted that it was correct On reflection she gave me a double measure and the Prosecco itself was flat. Thankfully the male person changed the Prosecco and I actually got a full glass. However the same male was on later that evening and he didn't realise how to serve people in turn at the bar which left a number of people extremely annoyed. Some extra training in their role needs addressing

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights (Thursday and Friday) on a business trip. The hotel is well located and the staff were very helpful and efficient. We enjoyed the breakfast and it was very much what one would expect of a hotel catering in this price band. The hotel had everything we really needed and I would probably stay there again (despite the things I did not like).
The hotel is a little old with creaky floors where I was on the top floor. Planks moved under the carpet and I wondered what was going on beneath. This is probably true for all updated or renovated buildings. There was quite a bit of minor maintenance to be done. Rooms on the street side are noisy till late because of the bars on the street. Closing the windows worked very well! But in hotter times of the year I would avoid these rooms if you wanted to sleep before 23:00.

Our accommodation was as expected. Staff were friendly helpful. The location of the hotel was idea for exploring the wider Newcastle area, being only 10 minutes walk to West Jesmond Metro Station. Jesmond Dene is within twenty minutes walk. The breakfast was comprehensive and pleasantly served as was the evening meal.
Jesmond, like much of central Newcastle is a lively area on a Saturday night and this is reflected in the hotel bars and restaurant. Not a problem but if you want quieter time avoid Saturday night.

I liked that there was a restaurant at the hotel because it was cold! I had mistakenly made two reservations and the receptionist was very accommodating in deleting one of them
Well I lost some earrings besides the bedside table in Room , and was hoping they could be found and I could get them on my return. No such luck. Either they have been “hoovered” or someone else is enjoying them.

We have stayed in several hotels on Osborne Road and The Caledonian is certainly one of the best! Clean, comfortable room, excellent staff, great location and free parking too!! We also had a meal in the bar, which was delicious, great value and the service was fantastic! We would definitely stay here again!

Breakfast was tasty and plentiful with a good choice. Rooms were beautifully decorated, warm and spacious.
The lift was too small and tight. The parking was a problem but staff did their best to keep this issue under control. We had someone in a wheelchair in our party and it was difficult to get a secure saved space.

The room was spacious and clean. Owen at the reception was helpful and friendly. The hotel location is near to some eating places and a supermarket. There is quite an ample car park spaces. Breakfast was quite good.
One of the bedsheet wasn't changed when we checked in! We have to ask the reception to do so.

In a nice part of town, nice bars and good breakfast buffet. Went to a close by Indian Restaurant, Chakh Doom, fantastic place well worth a visit. Parking just outside the hotel, but it makes sense to come early-ish if you want a spot.
Not much to dislike. Wouldn't mind going back one day.

Room was clean with good facilities, decent sized bathroom and has parking. Close to shops, bars and restaurants on Osborne Rd with easy, quick access to metro station
Breakfast a bit hit and miss, with things not replenished very quickly.
