Crowne Plaza Newcastle - Stephenson Quarter, An IHG Hotel

Very simple and quick check in, room was amazing facilities within the room were quality (we were situated on the 6th floor) which led to us having an amazing view. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re visiting the area or if you fancy a little break in the city centre. Quality location with plenty of bars and restaurants in a great walking distance. Gym, pool and spa area were all also great.

We were awoken twice on the first day of our stay (6:30AM and around 8:30PM) at first we thought it was some kind of torturous fire drill. We were later informed it was some (I can’t say the word) trying to smoke inside of their room. So in general everything about our stay was spot on maybe if the breakfast was a little cheaper but we got what we paid for I suppose!

Room and Amenities: The bed was a good size for both the kids and us, providing a comfortable night's sleep. However, as a new hotel, there was a strong smell of paint that disturbed our child. Despite requesting a refresher to minimize the smell, it lingered throughout our stay. Breakfast: Breakfast overall was good, with a great selection of options. However, the quality of the pancakes was disappointing as they were dry and hard. Fortunately, the rest of the menu was delightful and met our expectations.

Conclusion: Despite the paint smell and the issue with the pancakes, our stay was pleasant, and we appreciated the hotel's efforts to accommodate our needs. We recommend Crowne Plaza Newcastle for its comfort and attentive staff.

Excellent location for the train station and the Multi-storey car park, felt safe going to and from the car at night as the car park is adjacent to the hotel and well lit. The staff I spoke to were all nice especially the man at breakfast who got me a spoon for my hot chocolate, couldn’t have been more helpful, you need a spoon with a hot chocolate as they need extra stirring.

Had to wait behind 3 people to check in at 11pm, it seemed to take forever and there were several other staff buzzing about, I’d have thought one of them could have helped with checking people in, they should train everyone up to help at check in.

Wasn’t aware there was a pool! So even though we weren’t prepared, it was nice to see the spa. Also loved the fact you had to enter the level of room via key entry to reduce any unwanted visitors or noise. Loved the fact we got a complimentary upgrade! Many Thanks. Very short walk to the Utilita Arena.

The smell in room was a little musty! Could have been aired better, but cleanliness very satisfactory!! Would have been nice to been offered a reduced rate breakfast deal, or % off in the gin bar.

Good breakfast good selection however not all items replenished quickly on buffet bed comfortable Staff helpful provided water for room and ear plugs on request Allowed us to extend our check out time by an hour which was helpful

Room seemed dirty not thoroughly cleaned Room had a horrible smell and unable to ventilate (ie no window) Spa facilities poor no sauna small pool Some staff on reception quite rude and abrupt Overall felt the room had had a very basic and quick clean

Loved the hotel it was immaculate and staff couldn't have been more helpful I'm really happy we stayed here we were also upgraded which was really lovely of them to do and it was our anniversary so spot on for us.

The hotel itself was great but I'm not sure if it was us not knowing the area or if it was quite a way from all the shops etc but not complaining. Breakfast was nice just a little more selection such as jams etc would have been lovely but again not complaining

Booked a deluxe room but was no different to a standard room. Restaurant - told beef would be 10 minutes then told no beef available, less than an hour after opening and restaurant was quiet. Card machine not working in bar so cash only - duty manager just walked away claiming nothing he could do, leaving front of house staff to deal with frustrated customers, refused to add drinks to a room bill.

It’s too close to the center and quit

The room service very very slow, first time I ordered food they said 10 min and took 40 min in real, and I ordered Pepsi and Ice, the employee said go and get it from the bar by yourself!!, I told her why? She said it’s cheaper, I told her no problem bring it to the room, she just ignored me at all, after that all of my orders I get it from Uber eats, it was better for me

Accommodation was excellent very comfortable and welcoming. Easy access to our venue. Staff were very friendly, making you instantly feel welcome. Our room was spotless, very fresh and inviting.

There was nothing at all that we didn't . The hotel and staff enhanced our whole experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of our visit to Newcastle. Will most certainly return.

Cost of breakfasts, when there's no way we would get the benefit from it as my mum doesn't want a big breakfast. We got a lovely breakfast for a quarter the price down the road

Amazing stay at a very nice hotel with spacious and comfortable rooms, great breakfast, pool and spa, and amazing staff! We loved our stay here and would highly recommended it! We also travelled with two kids ages 6 and 8 and they also loved this hotel!

The property is in an excellent location, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was brilliant with plenty of choice. My five year old daughter especially liked playing in the swimming pool.

We didn’t dislike anything.

Overpriced nasty stain on carpet at entry to bathroom room 340 Breakfast - no nice fresh bread just sliced for toaster and at this price freshly cooked items would be appreciated

From entering the hotel it smelt clean, looked clean and had a stunning entrance decor. Room was clean, tidy and a very comfortable bed. Great addition that guests can use all onsite facilities.

The room view was terrible

Spacious room comfortable bed very clean ideal location for the Utilita Arena yummy breakfast and added extra a pool steam room n jacuzzi what more could you want would highly recommended

Absolutely nothing

We wanted two queen beds which we got - so that was good. I had a little swim/steam the next morning which was nice.

It was pretty pricey, both the room and the bar. But it was fine for what we needed.

Beautiful hotel, lovely clean room, and quiet

Check out took too long. Only 2 people on the desk, and one was dealing with a difficult reservation and left luggage. Queue formed quite quickly

The location for our visit to The Boiler Shop and facilities was perfect. Ideal for site seeing and 5 minute walk to the Tyne

Very helpful staff, room was lovely, bed was comfy also the staff at the spar was helpful. The bar was very relaxing also breakfast was lovely I would definitely stay again.
