Maldron Hotel Newcastle

Good sized room, quiet, amenities were good, spotless, very comfy and soft bed and pillows. Great location 5mins from train station and surrounded by shops and restaurants. 7mins on train to Metrocentre.

No breakfast included in price - £17pp is a bit steep when paying £109 per night. Issues with TV - could only watch BBC channels as every other channel was jumping. Reception aware of issue but was not fixed in the 3 nights we were there. Ice machine on our floor wasn't working, didn't check other floors as we didn't really need it but would have been a bonus.

Breakfast was very nice, as well room service for dinner - restaurant staff were lovely. The rooms were very nice and modern, and air con worked great.

Some of the desk staff were not overwhelmingly friendly, especially a younger lad. Also, there we multiple stag and hen parties coming and going in the lobby so keep that in mind if you find that annoying…or if you have children and you don’t feel like explaining why a bloke is wearing a ladies bathing suit with pretend boobs and pubic hair coming out of it at either end. Stay classy Britain.

Plenty of variety for hot and cold options from fruit, cereal and pastries then your fry up choices. Even had gluten free separate. Staff were friendly and couldn’t do anymore for you. Even though it was in the city centre there was no noise at night. The self check in and check out on your phone was really really easy to do.

Room needs a little touch up from marks on the wall near the window and cracked paint on the wall in the bathroom which you couldn’t miss. Only things that let the room down.

Rooms were spotless, very modern, my daughter received a lovely birthday card and some chocolates from the staff on arrival, she was so happy

There was nothing we didn't like, although I would have liked to be able to enjoy a drink in the evening but unfortunately your bar doesn't stock any type of alcho pops, (eg, Blue wkd) I'm not a big drinker but occasionally like a cold glass of wkd.

Room only family of 3 for 2 nights while visiting friends in the City so no breakfast. The online booking in and room card needed help to achieve x3 door cards, room was compact with 3 beds but tidy, TV only had a few channels--strange in this digital age. Bathroom/shower was great asset.

The hotel was in the city centre. The room was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. The food was good with a good choice on the menu. The hotel is easy walking distance to the metro, railway station and bus station.

The first room but was changed no bother

Perfect location, close enaugh to the historical center, reastaurants, main shopping area and to walk a few minutes to the riverside.

Ventilation hatch in the bathroom right to the mirror was covered with dust, not cleaned a long time.

Very good hotel, bang in the middle of Newcastle. Large and airy reception and dining area with plenty of tables; good breakfast buffet. Nice gesture is the room service, with food and drinks brought to you by a little robot.

A great location, central to all the amenities that we wanted to see and go to, near to train station, O2 City Hall. Comfy rooms, staff were very helpful and sociable.

Cursory clean of bathroom - washbasin didn’t get cleaned properly every day of our stay

Location was perfect. Breakfast was very good. Lots to choose. Had dinner which had a great choice. Bar and serving staff were friendly and chatty.
