The Old Barn Inn

Fabulous, quiet location. Room was big, well equipped, and nicely presented. Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Great breakfast. Friendly staff.

The bathroom needed a bit more cleaning as I had to pick up someone else's dried out contact lenses off the floor (I don't wear them!). Spotlight above the mirror in the main room wasn't working, which made it a bit dark and hard to see when putting makeup on. The bathroom fan didn't come on, and it was very steamy after a shower, and it took a very long time to clear (and unable to use mirror). Breakfast didn't start until 8 am on Sunday, I would have liked to have been able to eat earlier as I had to head off by 8.30 am. I was given a room that had an adjoining room with a door separating - wasn't a fan of that, and it was noisier as a result.

The breakfast was good. Plentiful yoghurts fruit and cereal. Wide selection of cooked breakfast options that were ordered by completing a tick box menu. Prompt, friendly waitress / waiter service. Comfortable room. Dined in restaurant one evening, good menu selection, generous portions and food properly cooked and presented. Generally friendly staff throughout hotel. Spacious free car park.

Quite a few guests were smoking directly outside the main hotel entrance/exit route into the main accommodation wing. As non-smokers, we found this unpleasant as we had to walk through the smoke haze. This continued during the whole of our 2 night stay.

The warmth and friendliness of the staff was exceptional and the quality of our Sunday roast and breakfast the next morning was excellent. It's a good location and provides comfort, cleanliness and quality.

The rooms are somewhat "tired" and dated and rather let down the overall ambience of the property. I assume that the proprietors will be aware of that and perhaps have plans to refurbish and bring the bedroom standard up to the same high quality of the restaurant and bar areas. When that happens it will transform and enhance the overall enjoyment of the premises.

Lovely property in a rural setting; room had tea/ coffee making facilities, a fridge and a microwave. Staff were lovely, the manager was very helpful when I couldn’t work the safe and the lady in the breakfast room was welcoming and able to give directions to a venue. Cleaning staff were friendly and helpful,too. Lots of parking available.

The breakfast itself was a little disappointing. The poached egg was so watery my toast fell apart, the toast was burnt. There was a good selection of cereals, juice and fruit . And the mushrooms were fresh.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room was very pleasant, spotlessly clean and well serviced. The car park was very convenient and spacious. We enjoyed all the food very much and all in all we would definitely recommend this to others and would be very happy to stay here again.

The motorway was audible in the outside areas of the hotel, but it didn't inconvenience us and it was obviously beyond the control of the hotel. At least the motorway gave easy access to the hotel.

Unfortunately the bathroom in the room I was in had an unfortunate smell, possibly drains. As I was only staying one night I didn’t bother to say anything until I checked out. Ryan on reception gave me a slight discount which was appreciated and said he would get it sorted. Breakfast itself was ok, but only one rasher of bacon! I’d have thought 2 minimum would be the norm

I opened the windows which obviously had not been open for some time the frame was full of bugs and creepy crawling insects not very clean either with rather a lot of black mould. Stand in Bath and shower Nit picking comments because my stay was very good

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant exceptional, and catered very well with my dairy allergy.

The room was looking a bit tired and several lightbulbs were out, the traffic noise from the motorway was very loud if you wanted the windows open. However there was a fan in the room.

We stopped here on route to a wedding further in wales the following day. The weather was great and we were able to sit out on the verandah overlooking beautiful scenery.

The main course on the early bird menu was slightly disappointing but everything else was lovely

Beautiful Pub, with an excellent restaurant, staff were brilliant and the owners were also there to great you , the accommodation is great ?

There is nothing we could fault about this property, from the Accommodation to the pub, Restauant and the amazing food.

Friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was very good. Bed was comfy.

No hairdryer in the room (apologies, if there was and I just didn't find it!). The delivery that happened at 6:30 am in the morning was noisy. The instructions for the safe had worn away.

Breakfast was a little bit of a let down, not taste but choice and quantity. Fruit juice, water and cereals was on one small table. Fried breakfast was tasty but the portion was disappointing.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. the hotel was very busy due to big event in Cardiff and the staff were kept busy but very cheerful. Our room was comfortable and quiet.

I had to ask for a fresh pot of tea as mine was not very hot.

Quaint; we had the penthouse suite which has a huge single room and jacuzzi and small balcony plus in an unusually hot day a ceiling fan which I am not sure all the other rooms have
